I been thinking about hiding things inside my bikes lately.
Here’s one I did yesterday.
First thing …. take that top cap off and knock your star nut all the way down to the bottom of your steerer tube.
Then get yourself a little kit like this…. Nitto handlebar bag, sks sub 60 pump (light ass skinny pump that fits in head tube) patches, glue, sand paper, rubber band
Then jam that sucker in there
Now find some kinda cap or cork or something you wanna hide that shit with. Dunno what mines from but it fits perfect.
Now I couldnt fit tyre levers in but with a longer steerer or shorter pump you might. Thats why that 3mm allen is in there so I can get into my seat tube!
So the tyre levers are in my seatpost with a 1″ carbon expander plug holding them in. Next I cut up and old 15mm spanner to make it fit in the seat tube (27.2)
So the spanner can be used with the short little 8/6mm allen to get into the seatpost and are wrapped in a bag jammed into the post using the expander plug.
I looked into a couple of other ideas too like….
Tube folded in thirds in a bag in the seat tube
valve forced into the carbon expander plug for extraction (not the same TPI)
But I was a bit worried about that tube getting stuck.
Got some more ideas coming up. Gonna be all set for summer rides with teeshirt shorts no bag.
Hi fellow reader of the skull bike club internationale squadron bicycle and mowers.
just updating on the things happening around town.
i just got back home from Two Hands Tattoo after stephan having a go at my latest random things to put on myself.
here is a little photo essay of the ordeal
so you asking what the heck am i up to.
well i thought on continuing of adding more animals to my body as that’s what i have most at the moment and what else but to get one of the most mystical creatures of all times on myself. evidently it had to be a YETI (also because i bought myself a yeti bike not so long ago and i always loved the brand and the ethos behind the boys from durango. the logo itself is pretty self-explanatory.
i got the logo directly from the importers of yeti in new zealand, black seal imports, it had to be the old school yeti that had the most radness going on.
however, having full on branding would have made me look like a frecking billboard. i feel like i had to add more zest to the picture, there came the pentagram. now the rest is history.
BOUNCE! Yeti with a pentagram.
that’s all i could afford to get inked, however in the future i’ll try to get the lines of the pentagram thickened and probably add some stuff inside the double circle for sheer pow pow effect.
thanks again to stephan sinclair, black seal imports for their patience and to yetis for being so cool when drifting.
CAN I HAVE THE FILE. ? email@example.com i will make sticker.
Bex and I headed down to Paeroa for the street race this weekend and it was fucking sweet. Started the day with some warm cider, good and bad.
One of the many insane race bikes.
Signature chilly bag was in order.
Looks like a late 70s sportster.
Not sure what the frame was but it was looking to be a sweet ride for some one.
The super moto guys were sliding into this corner.
Dammmmm, check that out. pretty stoked to see some one with the same look as the dirt-tracker.
One of the many dope bikes parked up.
So shanelle got a sweet new ride today. i had to go over and get it from the said shop and ride it home. was a sweet but slow ride. reminded me of berlin again. realy nice dude working in there just him and his partner . the build up the bikes to your specificatin. all made new but old. if you know what i mean. looks as if the source. or get them made in india.
and some shots of the shop
So my new boss is a tad into bikes. which is rad except he is not into to many rad bikes just expensive race bikes. he races them. but he did purchase this for dispay in the shop. all dura ace group and a few things could be changed like the 105 front derailleur. but all and all nice to look at when you walk in. and hey he is into bikes.
Shiny. and a shot of the shop thrown in there .
for all you bottom bracket nerds out there!
Popped my head in at Cicli Berlinetta the other day. Too many nice bikes! Here are some pics.
